What is it like to work with consultants?

The term con­sul­tant” is very gen­er­al and what they do is very dif­fer­ent by spe­cif­ic indus­try or field of exper­tise. A cus­tomer’s expe­ri­ence of work­ing with a con­sul­tant can be mixed, unless both sides start out with very clear expec­ta­tions of each oth­er. We begin by lis­ten­ing and answer­ing our cus­tomers’ con­cerns and ques­tions, such as these.

Q: How does it work if we are a small com­pa­ny, or have a lim­it­ed or no bud­get for consulting?

A: We offer a range of ser­vices designed to help solve cus­tomer prob­lems at most bud­gets. At the low-cost range, cus­tomers work with our con­sul­tants to devel­op a plan, begin self-paced learn­ing and prac­tice via the meth­ods in our online library, and we keep you on track through peri­od­ic vis­its or coach­ing calls. At a full-ser­vice lev­el, our con­sul­tants become a ded­i­cat­ed mem­ber of a clien­t’s team, deliv­er­ing cus­tomized sup­port days or weeks per month. We start small and prove our worth step by step.

Q: Is there a stan­dard approach or roadmap for con­tin­u­ous improvement?

A: Every clien­t’s sit­u­a­tion is unique and dif­fer­ent. We lis­ten, observe, learn and adapt our approach to fit each clien­t’s short and long-term goals. Through over 20 years of prac­tice, we have devel­oped stan­dard train­ing pro­grams, work­shops, and even a gen­er­al get­ting start­ed” 90-day roadmap. We build cus­tomized play­books for clients based on proven and repeat­able mod­ules and methods.

Q: Will we become depen­dent on consultants?

A: No. We sup­port clients com­mit­ted to both to deliv­er­ing results and devel­op­ing peo­ple. We accel­er­ate your learn­ing and progress towards your goals, build in-house learn­ing sys­tems by lever­ag­ing our online library, and remain avail­able to you long-term for infor­mal or struc­tured coach­ing support.

Q: What type of work is with­in scope of con­tin­u­ous improve­ment consulting?

A: As a vis­it to our online library reveals, con­tin­u­ous improve­ment applies to any process in any indus­try. Typ­i­cal projects are aimed at stream­lin­ing work­flow, reduc­ing through­put and cycle times, improv­ing safe­ty and qual­i­ty, and there­by reduc­ing cost.
